Eerie, elemental piano and modular synth abstractions.

'both | and' documents the early days of Ola and Claude Aldous’ journey as an improvising duo, presented here as the pairing of piano and modular synthesizer.

Later performances have found Ola additionally stretching out into wordless vocals, bowed banjo, no-input mixing board, and electronics, but these recordings capture an elemental quality of their collaboration, present in all of their later works.

In addition to their sound practice they publish Deft Esoterica, a zine dedicated to experimental music and sound art.
